Scarlet

By Michelle Horgen

May 2 – July 1

Directed by Brian Weaver and Jessica Wallenfels

ABOUT

Condemned by her community, Hester fights to build a life for her and her daughter in Puritan Boston, Massachusetts. Funny, sweet, and heroic; this new musical based on Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter stars Rebecca Teran, Isaac Lamb, Susannah Mars, Darius Pierce, Dana Green and many other Portland favorites!

“…here, in 2018, as women are still fighting to be viewed by legislators, religious leaders, and employers as fully human, with the same liberties and opportunities as men, the time seems more than right for an update of Hester Prynne’s story.”
– Andi Zeisler, co-founder and creative/editorial director of Bitch Media
