Join us on Monday, January 21 for an afternoon honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and heed his call to action.

The afternoon begins at 4:00 pm (doors at 3:30) with a free performance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr: Civil Rights Leader. Following the performance at 5:00 pm we will have a community reading of Dr. King’s speech “Our God is Marching On” and conclude with a community potluck.

Bring your love and respect and a dish to share and join us in celebrating the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King: Civil Rights Leader  is one-man, interactive show featuring Charles Grant as Dr. King. Playful, poignant and powerful, this production chronicles the Civil Rights leader from his childhood to his adulthood, marking influencing moments along the way.

Join us at the Playhouse for performance of this production on January 21 at 4 pm (doors at 3:30). This event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Please reserve your seats.

All ages welcome. Run time: 45 mins.


Charles Grant

Charles began the process of working on Martin Luther King: Civil Rights Leader back in January of 2018, and performed it at Sabin School last February. He is looking forward to performing it again in 2019 for more schools and community members. Favorite credits include: Mamma Mia! (Broadway Rose), A Year With Frog and ToadAnd In This Corner: Cassius Clay (Oregon Children’s Theatre), and A Christmas Carol (Portland Playhouse).
